In 2019 at a meeting held by the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Fair Business Banking, their subject matter expert referred to 143 victims with evidence of being defrauded £3.5 Billion. The Rt Hon Kevin Hollinrake said the APPG were officially aware of and investigating what he claimed to be, “The criminal defrauding by Lloyds Bank of the British public and SMEs of £100 Billion.” He also said, “We believe the collective banks of the UK have criminally defrauded the British public and SMEs of £1.2 Trillion”.
Heather Buchanan, Director of Policy for the APPG organised this event which took place on Thursday 14th March 2019 at Portcullis House in Westminster. The Rt Hon Kevin Brennan MP and the Rt Hon Kevin Hollinrake MP co-chaired this. Several other MPs attended including the Rt Hon MP Derek Thomas.

Kevin Hollinrake was appointed a Minister of State in the Department for Business and Trade on 26 March 2024. Before this, he was Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Business and Trade from 7 February 2023.
